As a programmer, we have a lot to do every day. Take me for example. There are a lot of things to do: Work, read books, read articles written by others, study source code, write code, accompany girlfriends, play games, watch movies ...... You will certainly face these many and chaotic things. Will you be confused like me? If yes, you are the object I shared.

I used to do things at will. I had no plans. I felt like there were so many things that my mind was a mess and I had no plans at all. Even if there are not many things, the efficiency of doing things is not high. Besides, I still feel that time is not enough, but I don't know where the time is going ...... Although I have always wanted to plan my time and manage everything, I have always been "thinking", failing to implement it, and I don't know where to start.

Recently I learned the idea of a stress-free job GTD: GTD (Get Things Done ). I think it is very important to spend time on it.

Design Time

I discussed it with a few friends for one night and designed a GTD model that suits my own situation:

The entire process from idea to completion is shown. In fact, it is really easy to take a closer look after the painting. But it is such a simple thing, but it has always occupied rich brain cells. Hateful!

It is worth mentioning that two important processes in the figure: select a task and assign a time. I have not come up with a clear picture of it. Because the algorithms in these two processes may be complicated to be clearly written, so we can draw a conclusion (cognitive theory, hey) only after we leave them in practice .). In fact, during my recent use, I found that in many cases, you only need to subconsciously select and allocate resources. Unless you want to build a general-purpose software, you do not need to clearly draw it out.

In addition, the following figure shows the task status. This figure is extracted from the figure above. It helps me decide what tools to use to manage it in practice.

Practice

In GTD's practice, we should pay attention to the quick and convenient collection, processing, query, and reminder.

For convenience, it is naturally a mobile phone with me. I use HTC Touch Pro 2 in the Windows Mobile operating system, so I can only use Windows Mobile Software. I think WM is more suitable for NET programmers, because if you think that the software written by others is not suitable for you, you can write one by yourself, it is completely customized for myself (I have been running my own small programs on my cell phone. :)). Based on the above ideas, I first searched for some software on the Internet and found that there were quite a lot of software involved in this aspect. In comparison, I did a good job in these aspects: SPB Diary, PocketInformation 9, WM Outlook (WM built-in ).

After a period of use, I have eliminated SPB and PI9, and finally used several built-in WMOutlook functions for GTD. Below isSpecific Solution:

First, I installed the SPB Mobile shell desktop. Its advantage is that you can customize the desktop functions and views you want at will. On the desktop, I added the following four features in the most prominent position: recent calendar, new calendar, task, and new handwritten notes. Among them, "Recent Calendar" is the most important, accounting for 1/4 of the screen, while the other three functions account for a total of 1/4.

Collection: Handwriting is used.NotesFunction. In this way, when I have an idea to record it, I just need to make a key point to start handwriting input. If you need to record a long record, you can directly use the note recording. You need to click three. In general, the speed is very fast, and it is definitely faster than paper. It takes 10 s.
In fact, many times I have not used a note to collect data. Currently, I only use it once or twice. This is because there are not many scenarios that really require such urgent processing, and general ideas will directly becomeTaskInstead of being discarded, I usually create an activation task for the idea directly. However, this feature is provided here to provide great support for emergencies.
Organize: Here we will mainly Delete the ideas recorded in the Notes and filter them, or create a task for them. The operation takes 20 s.
Proceed: NormallyScheduleTo do things, it also plays a role of timed reminders. When the schedule is relatively loose, I just need to select a suitable task from the "task" activation task "and mark it as complete, and add a new calendar. The operation in this step is relatively time-consuming, which may take 20 s to 60 s. But fortunately, there are not many tasks in a day.
Review: This can be queried using PI9. Its query function is quite good. The rest will not be said for the moment, because there is no practice, there is no say.

In addition, in the next time, I will writePrograms for managing task categoriesIt must support tree classification. This is the only program I need to write, because for tasks that may have the largest data volume, tree classification is used to facilitate management and maintenance.

Summary

After discussion with friends, we can draw a flowchart at the beginning. Finally, I tried a lot of software on my mobile phone for two days and finally decided on the specific solution.

Think about the previous life, it is a word: Chaos. At that time, I did what I wanted to do. When I thought of it, I did more and did nothing without feeling at all. Let alone planning. Now I have been using this GTD Solution for many days, and I find that there are fewer things in my mind. The most important thing is that I don't feel the original pressure, and my life has become quite regular. In this way, I have a more relaxed mind and will not complain that my memory is too bad.
