A few days ago, I went to the Nanjing customer to update the new business system. The customer asked me to remove the old hard disk on the server, replace it with the new hard disk, and redo the raid, the customer needs to insert the old hard disk to read the old data. He did a few experiments yesterday. Two Dell r710 servers each had four hard disks. One was RAID 5, and the other was raid 6, after the system is installed, replace the hard disks on the two servers respectively (note: the order of the hard disks on the array card must not be changed ), when the server is started to the system boot, the hard disk cannot be identified because the array information of the local machine is inconsistent with the hard disk array information. The system will prompt you to configure the array information according to 'C, at this time, the system will prompt to press y to enter the raid configuration. after entering the RAID card bios, press Ctrl + n to view the status of the new hard disk, the hard disk status on another machine is displayed as "foreign". Press ctrol + P to return to the main menu, select the Logical Disk, press F2, and select Config from the pop-up menu, select foreign and select "import" in the lower menu of the menu. The system will prompt you if it is irreversible and whether to execute it. Select "execute" and the execution is complete. After that, check that the status of the hard disk is all online, and restart the machine to enter the system normally.
The Dell server imports array information from the hard disk.
