Microsoft recently officially launched the official IE8 version. According to Microsoft, one of the highlights of this new version of Internet Explorer is its many new security features, including malicious website interception and data privacy protection. Of course, Microsoft will naturally name IE8 as the "most secure" browser in history, and its real performance remains to be seen by us.
The operating system used in this evaluation is Windows XP SP3, which runs on a virtual machine. No protection software is installed in the system. IE8 is the latest official Internet Explorer 8 Simplified Chinese version with the version 8.0.6001.18702.

1. Protection against malicious websites-SmartScreen Filter
According to Microsoft, the SmartScreen filter of IE8 is an extension of the anti-phishing feature of IE7. In addition to blocking phishing (Phishing) websites, it can also shield websites that are known to spread malware.
Each time a user accesses a page, IE8 compares it with an online blacklist. If a matching result can be found, a prompt window is displayed to remind and organize the user's access behavior.
According to the latest test data from NSS Labs, an independent foreign institution, IE8 has a success rate of up to 69% in intercepting social engineering malware, far higher than 3.07 of the second Firefox version 30%.
