If you want to share the Internet with your friends, log on to the vro settings page and set the WAN port connection type, Internet account, and Internet password in the WAN port settings, but the connection fails.

It may be because the firmware version of the router is too low and some functions are not supported.

Decide to upgrade the router firmware program.

Preparations:

Upgrade procedure:

1. disable the system firewall, including the built-in firewall and the firewall software you have installed. In the XP system, follow these steps to disable the built-in firewall: Right-click the computer's "Local Connection" and select Properties, then click "advanced", then click "Settings", and close the firewall;

2. Double-click the tftpd32.exe file in the upgrade package and ensure that the software is enabled throughout the upgrade process;

3. log on to the vro Management page, go to "system tool"-"software upgrade", and set the name of the firmware program to be upgraded. Here: "r402mv2. bin, make sure that the IP address of the TFTP server is the IP address of the current host.

4. On the "System Tools"-"software upgrade" page, click "Upgrade". The upgrade will take about 20 seconds. After the upgrade is successful, the router will automatically restart.

 

Several common error messages during upgrade:

1. If the upgrade is similar to "failed, check whether you have enabled the TFTP server ." Error message. Please check whether your upgrade operation is correct again. Check whether the tftpd32.exe tool is enabled or the operating system firewall is disabled;

2. If a file transfer error similar to "file transfer error occurs during the upgrade, check whether the input is correct ." Error message, or "the upgrade is not successful. The version number of the transferred file is incorrect. Check whether the file name is correct ." .
