The number of global CDMA users exceeded 500 million ev-do users up to 128 million

At the end of the second quarter of 2009, a total of 502 million users used CDMA series technology (including cdmaone™), of which CDMA 2000 and ev-do broadband users reached 494 million and 128 million respectively.

CDG Executive Director Perry Lafage (Perry Laforge) said: "CDG not announced, there are currently more than 500 million people in the use of CDMA." ”

In the second quarter of 2009, India's CDMA operators ushered in their 100 millionth user and began to market the ev-do version a high-speed wireless data service. Meanwhile, China Telecom has added 6.44 million CDMA 2000 users, including 1.3 million "Sky Wing" ev-do version a users. In Africa, nearly 50 CDMA 2000 operators have added 2.5 million users this quarter. In North America, the number of new users increased over 2 million over the same period.

CDMA 1x ev-do

From June 2008 to June 2009, CDMA 2000 global broadband service providers added more than 26.6 million ev-do users, an increase of 27%. CDMA Ev-do is a leading mobile broadband technology, with 167 operators in 63 countries providing permanent online CDMA 2000 Broadband data Services for 128 million users. Among them, 70 operators have deployed CDMA 1x ev-do version a network to provide advanced mobile broadband services, and another 38 operators are deploying version a network. Currently, operators are experimenting with multi-carrier ev-do technology, which increases the value of its existing version a network by upgrading the operator's data network capacity by one-fold, or by twice times the user's peak data rate.

As the availability of mobile broadband terminals increases and the use of smartphones and functional handsets increases, global operators are increasingly gaining compelling benefits from ev-do. Compared with the same period last year, African operators received the biggest gains, adding more than 3 million ev-do users, up 500%. In the same year, the number of ev-do users in North America (US and Canada) increased by nearly 17 million to 71 million. The number of users in the Asia-Pacific region also increased by 4.8 million to 44 million. The number of ev-do users in Europe has almost doubled to 1.3 million, while operators in the Middle East have added nearly 500,000 users. The number of ev-do users in Latin America and the Caribbean increased by 46% per 6.3 million.

CDMA 2000

In the second quarter of 2009, a total of 22.4 million CDMA 2000 users were added globally, accounting for more than half of the new 44.3 million CDMA users from June 2008 to June 2009. Europe, Africa and the Middle East are still the fastest-growing CDMA 2000 regions, with a total increase of 13 million users over the past year, up 59%. The region currently accounts for 7% of the world's CDMA 2000 users.

China, India and Indonesia continue to drive the growth of CDMA 2000 in the Asia-Pacific region, where 18.7 million CDMA 2000 users have been added to the region over the past 12 months, and market share has accounted for 2000 of the global CDMA 53% market. In the past year, North American CDMA 2000 users have added 11.5 million to 155.5 million, making CDMA 2000 continue to occupy 52% per cent of the U.S. market.
