The predecessor and origin of CMMs

The predecessor of the cmme model is SW-CMM and SE-CMM, the former is what we refer to CMM. The main difference between cmme and SW-CMM is that it covers many fields; so far it includes four areas:

1Software Engineering (SW-CMM)

Software Engineering is intended for the development activities of software systems and requires systematic, systematic, and quantified software development, operation, and maintenance activities.

2System Engineering (SE-CMM)

System Engineering targets the development activities of a full set of systems, which may or may not include software. The core of system engineering is to convert customers' requirements, expectations, and constraints into product solutions, and provide full support for the implementation of solutions.

3. Integrated product and process development (IPPD-CMM)

Integrated product and process development refers to the use of systematic processes to better meet customer needs, expectations and requirements through the cooperation of all relevant personnel in the product lifecycle. If the project or enterprise selects the ippd process, all ippd-related practices in the model must be selected.

4. Procurement (SS-CMM)

The purchased content applies to the items that supplier behaviors play a key role in project success or failure. The main content includes: identifies and evaluates potential sources of products, identifies target suppliers of products to be purchased, monitors and analyzes supplier implementation processes, evaluates work products provided by suppliers, and makes appropriate provisions on supply agreements and supply relationships.
