The type that the pointer points to:

Syntactically, simply remove the pointer 's name and pointer descriptor * from the pointer declaration statement, leaving the type that the pointer points to;

The type of the pointer (that is, the type of the pointer itself) and the type that the pointer points to are two different concepts;

Difference:

The type of the pointer is a declarator with a pointer, and the type pointed to by the pointer does not have a pointer to the declarator;
