I recently tested an enterprise website for the customer and found that the architecture designed by the original engineer did not take into account the simplicity of user operations. The most prominent point is that the menu is left, which seems to be very standard in vision, in our test, we found many unnecessary extra actions. We had to move the mouse repeatedly from the right side of the screen to the right side for selection, we did not really think about the user's operation experience, but it was against our design goal.
The right side of the natural menu may be a little abrupt, but I think it's easy to operate.
Generally, the human visual center is concentrated in the center left on the screen, so the center and left are the best data presentation areas, while the right is placed in the menu, in line with the operating habits of the right hand, such a design can reduce unnecessary repetitive unnecessary actions to a certain extent, and improve work efficiency. Naturally, for left-handed users, this menu should be designed to allow flexible switching between left and right.
Perhaps in the future software design, we should also focus on improving user operations by 2.0.
