There is a problem with the "SM bus controller" and "other PCI bridge devices" Driver in the Device Manager, smpci
After WinXP reinstalls the system, there is a yellow question mark in the Device Manager, which is "SM bus controller" and "other PCI bridge devices". The motherboard is Rainbow 7 and the chipset is geForce 7025, nanqiao is nForce 630a, And it is useless to use the motherboard driver of the rainbow official website.
First, back up the driver of another machine on the same motherboard. NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management _ *. zip, NVIDIA Network Bus Enumerator _ *. zip.
The first is the SM bus driver.
The second is the driver of other PCI bridge devices.
Decompress them to different directories, and select the corresponding directory when updating the driver.
After the drivers of other PCI bridge devices are updated, winxp will recognize the NIC. Because the nVidia motherboard is a soft Nic, this driver must be installed to identify it.
However, it is still unclear why it is useless to install the motherboard driver. In the past, it was okay to install the motherboard driver.
It turns out to be caused by Ghost. The same is true if you reinstall the system manually.
I packed the two drivers I extracted and put them here. You can download them as needed. Note that if the corresponding motherboard is used, it will not be available.
SM bus controller in Device Manager, other PCI bridge devices, and unknown Devices
It should be a driver problem

What is an SM bus controller?
The sm Bus controller, also known as SMBus, is short for System Management Bus and is a communication controller on the motherboard control chip. It was proposed by Intel in 1995 for low-speed communication in mobile PC and desktop PC systems. It mainly aims to control the devices on the motherboard and collect relevant information through a cheap and powerful bus consisting of two wires. SMBus provides a control bus for tasks such as system and power management. In SMBus systems, messages are sent and received between devices through SMBus instead of using independent control lines, this can save the number of pins of the device.
SM Bus Controller Driver Installation
The SM bus controller was launched after windows XP and cannot be well recognized by the operating system. You need to install the driver "Intel Software Installation utilityy" for the Intel Motherboard chipset separately. You can find this program on the Driver Board, and its Installation file name is infin_autol.exe. If the Device Manager shows that the sm bus controller driver is not installed (there is a yellow question mark before the sm Bus Controller), it indicates that the Motherboard chipset driver is not installed, you can download the Motherboard chipset driver from the corresponding website, or you can add the corresponding motherboard disc sent from the purchased computer to the optical drive so that windows can search for it by yourself.
