Design intention

As a sci-fi fan, I like to write interesting stories occasionally, hoping that one day I can turn them into animations. When it comes to inspiration, I also record them in the form of pictures, in addition to writing them down in words. This method of recording can express my intentions in a particular way, especially since more inspiration and storyline will follow.

This is a fairytale story that happens in the insect world. The original idea came from my previous illustration "on the road (on the Way i)". The illustration depicts a grasshopper who likes to play guitar. You can see that a creature as small as that comes to you and plays the guitar, you can feel it is born an optimist! It makes you feel like there's nothing to worry about. Music is the way it expresses itself, and it also brings happiness to people who play music.

Role setting

The Grasshopper is not only a happy bachelor, but also a stray singer, and guitars, blankets and lovely straw hats are all possessions. It has been walking around with cheerful steps, whistling and playing the guitar happily. Everyone can feel this happy mood. Because it was the first time the character came in, I wanted to make it look more mysterious. In my experience, making it out of a black background is more mysterious than the white background, and the black background will have some theater effect, so I decided to use the backlight. In addition, in order to create a microscopic world of insects, I lowered the point of view to the ground, so that these flowers would look as tall as trees.
