3. Host-only mode (host mode only)
Host-only mode: a closed network mode. a vm can only communicate with a host through vmnet1. This mode is suitable for conducting various network experiments in an independent environment. The difference between this mode and Nat mode is that there is no address translation service, and virtual machines can only access the host machine.
The following is an example of host-only:
① Edit the network mode in the VM and select host-only mode:

② Set the IP address of the network connection in the virtual machine:

③ Set the network connection IP address of vmnet1:
650) This. length = 650; "src =" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/47/D2/wKioL1P_-7HiNi39AAH4OArKZ6U313.jpg "Title =" e.jpg "width =" 400 "Height =" 500 "border =" 0 "hspace =" 0 "vspace =" 0 "style =" Width: 400px; Height: 500px; "alt =" wKioL1P_-7HiNi39AAH4OArKZ6U313.jpg "/>
④ Network topology:
The virtual machine communicates with the host machine through vmnet1, but cannot communicate with the network segment 172.16.1.x.

⑤ Test:
Ping the host in the VM:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>ping 192.168.181.1Pinging 192.168.181.1 with 32 bytes of data:Reply from 192.168.181.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64Reply from 192.168.181.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64Reply from 192.168.181.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64Reply from 192.168.181.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64Ping statistics for 192.168.181.1: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms
Ping external networks in virtual machines: (inaccessible)
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>ping 172.16.1.73Pinging 172.16.1.73 with 32 bytes of data:Destination host unreachable.Destination host unreachable.Destination host unreachable.Destination host unreachable.Ping statistics for 172.16.1.73: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),
