Three methods to refresh and add IE Toolbar buttons

Source: Internet
Author: User

After installing Kingsoft Mac, Flashget, and other software, you can find them on the IE (5.0 or later) toolbar and click it to start the corresponding program, which is very convenient. Here we take the button for adding the Foxmail program to the IE Toolbar as an example to introduce three methods to implement the above functions.

  1. Registry Modification Method

1. Run REGEDIT and expand the Registry to HKEY_CURRENT _

USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Extensions.

2. Create a primary key in Extensions with the primary key named in the format of {XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX}, for example: {11111111-2222-3333-4444-555555555555 },

It cannot be the same as other primary key names. Note: Double quotation marks are not included here. X is any number or letter.

3. Create a string named ButtonText in the new primary key and assign a value to Foxmail. This string defines the text displayed on the button.

4. Create a string named Clsid in the new primary key. Its value is fixed to {1fba04ee-3024-11d2-8f1f-440f87abd16}, which is the class ID code of the IE Toolbar.

5. Create a Default Visible string in the new primary key and assign a value of Yes. The value of Yes is used to determine whether the Custom button is displayed on the toolbar. No is not displayed.

6. Create a string named Exec in the new primary key with the complete path of the Foxmail program, such as D: \ Foxmail \ foxmail.exe.

7. Create a string named HotIcon in the new primary key. Its value is the icon displayed when you move the cursor over the button, such as C: \ icons \ Foxmail1.ico.

8. Create a string named Icon in the new primary key. The value is the Icon displayed under normal conditions, such as C: \ icons \ Foxmail2.ico.

9. Create a string named MenuText in the new primary key and assign a value to Foxmail. This string defines the text displayed by the button in the IE "tool" menu.

10. Create a string named MenuStatusBar in the new primary key and assign a value to Foxmail. This string defines the text displayed on the status bar when you move the cursor over the buttons in the IE tool menu.

The configured Registry window 1 is shown in.
