If Terminal Services in the server are not enabled or stopped unexpectedly, and the service is desperately needed to remotely administer the server, the only way to do this is to re-enable the service. In order to make better use of the service remote Management Server, this article deliberately from both local and remote point of view, to give you a detailed introduction to the different ways to enable remote Terminal Services.
Modify Property method
This approach is actually to modify the system properties of Terminal Services, so that its startup type from the "Disabled" state modified to "automatic" state, the specific steps are:
Click Start to run, run the command "Services.msc", and go to the System Services list interface; From the right pane area of the interface, locate and double-click the Terminal Services service to open the property settings interface for the service; Click the Start button, Set the startup type of the service to Automatic, and then click OK to complete the remote Terminal Services enabled. Of course, you can also enable the Telnet service in the System Services list interface.
Even if it is not local to the server, the System console window can be used to remotely modify the "Terminal Services" service attribute in the server to enable remote server Terminal Services. When you start server Terminal Services remotely, you only have to execute the MmC command on the remote workstation. Open the console window for the local system, click the file Add/Remove Snap-in command, click the Add button, import the Services snap-in, and in the Snap-in Management section, select Another computer, and enter the IP address of the server, and then click the "Finish" button, and finally, we can implement the purpose of remotely enabling server Terminal Services by modifying the properties of the "Terminal Services" service in the previous way.
Edit Registry method
This is done by modifying registry subkeys related to remote Terminal Services to enable the purpose of enabling remote Terminal Services:
Click the start Run command, run the command "regedit", and go to the System Registry editing window; Expand the registry branch Hkey_local_machine\system\currentcontrolset\services\ TermService, in the right pane area of the corresponding TermService subkey, locate and double-click the Start key, open the Value Setting dialog box for the key, enter the number "2" in it, click OK, and then restart the server system. You can enable remote Terminal Services in the server.
The above method is only local to the server, in fact, in the remote workstation can also use this method to open Terminal Services in the server. In the remote workstation system, you also need to open the system's Run dialog box first and enter the registry edit command "regedit", click OK to enter the System Registry editing window, and then click File in the menu bar to connect to the network registry. Then in the pop-up Server Password Verification dialog box to enter the access to the server registry permissions of the account and password, after the successful login and then press the previous method, modify the TermService subkey below the "Start" key value, the server system once restarted, the server in the Terminal Services can be effective.
