Tips for printing only areas outside of a chart in Excel

When you want to print an Excel chart, you can select the chart directly, and then use the file | Print command to print, or you can click the Print button in the toolbar directly. If you don't want to print the chart, and you want to print only areas other than the chart, you can select the areas and then use the file | Print command to open the Print dialog box, select the selection box under Print Content, and then click OK to print.

This is a relatively simple scenario, when the worksheet is large and the data area outside the chart is not contiguous, using the above method to print areas outside the chart can be cumbersome. Is there a way to solve this thorny problem?

The method described below is a great way to do this.

1. Right-click on a chart that you don't want to print, and then choose Chart Area Format from the pop-up menu, as shown in Figure 1.

2. In the Chart Area Format dialog box, click the Properties tab, and then deselect the check box "Print Objects", as shown in Figure 2.

3. Click "OK" button. Cancel the selection of the chart (if you don't deselect the chart, it doesn't work), and then click the Print button on the toolbar to see if it really works?

As shown in Figure 3, sure enough, only the content of the data area is displayed and the chart is no longer displayed so that it can be printed with confidence.
