SFC (system files checker ). Log on to Windows XP as an administrator, put the installation CD of Windows XP into the optical drive, type the "SFC/scannow" command in the "command prompt" window, and press Enter, the System File Checker starts to automatically scan system files without any intervention. However, we need to remind you that, although the "SFC" in Windows 2000/XP is much smarter than the "SFC" in Windows 98, you must pay attention to the following two problems to run it properly:
1. Before Running "SFC", you must add the Windows XP installation disc to the optical drive. Otherwise, you will be prompted to insert the installation disc during the scan process. Even if you have inserted an installation disc, the system still prompts an error.
2. When you use the System File Checker in Windows 2000/XP, you must add the correct parameters to run properly. In the "command prompt" window, type the "SFC" command to view these parameters.
3. Because the "SFC" command in Windows 2000/XP is fully automatic, we cannot directly know which system files are repaired. However, we can use the following methods to indirectly repair system files: Open "Control Panel> Management Tools> Event Viewer> System", and follow the time prompt, select an event running SFC from the list, right-click the event, and view its properties.
