Physical connection
1. You only need to connect the power supply and network cable.
* Set the printer IP Address
1. Press √ on the printer Control Panel to go to the menu;
2. Press ▲ or configure to find the configure device option and press √;
3. Press ▲or else to find the I/O option and press √;
4. Press ▲or locate EIO 1, 2, 3, or embedded jetdirect menu, and press √;
5. Press ▲ or dig to find the TCP/IP option and press √;
6. Select the config method option and press the √ key;
7. Select manual and press √;
8. Select manual settings and press √;
9. Press ▲ or dig to find the IP address and press √;
10. Press ▲or Else To change the first IP address and press √;
11. Repeat Step 1 to complete the setting of the IP address;
12. Refer to Step 9-11 to change the subnet mask and gateway to complete the configuration of the print server.
* Set the master server
Select a computer as the printer master server, and then execute:
1. Control Panel-> printer and faxes-> right-click-> server properties;
2. Ports-> Add port...-> standard TCP/IP Port-> new port;
3. Next to "Printer name or IP address", fill in the printer IP address set in the previous step, OK to end;
4. Return to printer and faxes and select Add a printer;
5. Next-> local printer attached to this computer (do not select automatically ...);
6. Use the following prot: select the port you just added;
7. install printer software: Select have disk and browse to the printer driver directory to install the driver;
8. If you ask "whether the driver is replaced with the new one", replace it with another;
9. Write a custom printer name;
10. All the way to OK to the end. At this point, the master server can be printed;
* Add a printer to another machine
If you perform the above steps for each machine, you can also print the network for each machine. However, this process is complex, and synchronization issues occur if printing is performed at the same time. So it is best to connect other machines to the master server for printing. Select a machine and run:
1. Control Panel-> printer and faxes-> Add a printer;
2. Next-> a network printer,...-> connect to this printer, and write "// $ {master server IP address}/$ {printer name }";
3. All the way to OK to the end.
