To publish the OWA for Exchange 2010 with the ISA 2006 Standard Edition: Create a Web listener

With the steps above, we complete the configuration of Exchange Server, and then we need to configure ISA Server to publish the intranet's Exchange OWA to users on the Internet.

Isa is a barrier between intranet and extranet, when the extranet user accesses the intranet exchange, it actually accesses Isa, so to import the exchange's certificate on ISA, ISA can present a valid certificate to the user on behalf of the OWA site. In addition, in this experimental topology, ISA Server is in a workgroup and is not in a domain, so Exchange certificates issued from an enterprise CA are not automatically trusted by ISA. The workaround is to import the CA certificate to the ISA Server. So the first step in configuring ISA Server is to import the certificate.

Import certificate needs to use Microsoft's Management Console container, add the "certificate Snap-in", about this part of the content, please refer to the relevant documentation, here is not described in detail. It is important to emphasize that you must log on to ISA with the local administrator account to add the computer certificates snap-in. Then, in turn, import the Exchange certificate into the certificate--personal--under the Certificates node, import the CA certificate under the Trusted Root Certification authorities node.

The essence of publishing OWA is to publish the virtual directory of the IIS Web site on the Exchange server, so you need to create a Web listener for ISA to complete the publication.

Open the ISA Server Management console, click the Firewall Policy node, select the Toolbox tab in the taskbar on the right, expand Network objects, press new, select Web Listener, and the Create Web Listener Wizard, as shown in Figure 1.

Figure 1 Creating a Web listener

First name the Web listener, and the SSL connection's port number is 443, so I named it tcp_443. After you click the Next button, select how the client and ISA are connected, as shown in Figure 2, and then click Next.
