artichokes: No, they've been making me do this.
Cucumber : The other thing is important ... Or is that printing function important?
artichokes: I don't know. What's the ratio?

Artichokes: How could you do so much in one day?

artichokes: No, nothing is done.
cucumber : Suggest you try the tomato working method. Concentrate on one thing within 25 minutes,
Then take a short break and compare the other things with what you are doing. To see which is more important, pick the most important thing to do.

Before you begin
If you want to be focused, you have to be resolute in throwing away all kinds of distractions.
"Illustration of the working law of Tomatoes" this book, with my personal experience of working with tomatoes, teaches you the whole process of implementing this work law, and you can see how it has improved my productivity. In addition, a number of studies on brain thinking have been added to reveal the principles of the tomato Work law, as well as some of the implications of using the work law, and how to regulate and expand the work law as needed.
I asked to do the exercises, the sooner I started, the better I understood the tomato work law. At the end of this article, I'm going to list some of my own problems that have made me decide to take control of time and energy, and you may see yourself in these questions. My story begins by taking the bus.
Travel Time
I live in the outskirts of Stockholm. As a consultant, I usually work in a large office of a client. The large office is located in the city centre, and there is a bus stop 100 metres from my home. Every morning the scene is exactly the same: I went to the station to wait for the bus, the car came, I got on the bus, sitting in the customary seat. The journey to the city centre takes about 25 minutes, and I always use this time to read practical books about work.
In these 25 minutes, it is impossible to drink coffee, watch TV, surf the internet, or deal with one or two things that suddenly come to mind when you want to read at home. Moreover, most of the people I do not know, occasionally I will say "hello" to a familiar face, but that's all, basically no interference.
I study on the bus time is relatively fixed , the activities of a single, single goal, the results are amazing. There are more things to learn in the morning on the bus than at other times. I put my attention on the book and I knew the bus driver would call me when I got there.
I can't get on the bus all day in order to achieve this kind of learning efficiency, and neither can you. Fortunately, there is a better way. The tomato work method, is to help you to divide each day into small sections, and travel time is similar. You just have to set your destination for your "little bus" and have an alarm clock, then focus on your work.
Tomato Timer
Francisco · Cirillo founded the tomato Work Law in 1992, but if you start from the beginning, it goes back to the late 1980s, the first few years of his college life. He was once afflicted with inefficiency and could not do his homework and learn to learn. At the steady, when--thanks to a red, timed bell-shaped object: "So I bet myself, next curtailing, mercilessly despise myself said: ' Can I study for a while? 10 minutes of real learning? ' I have to find a time coach, who will pinch my watch? Then I found it, a kitchen timer, shaped like ' tomato ' (Pomodoro in Italian). In this way, I met my tomato bell. ”
The tomato working method helps you to be friends with time, and will not be filled with anxiety because there is an hour, a day, a week, a one-month time limit, and all you have to do is set the 25-minute tomato clock and concentrate on the task at hand. If the tomato bell rings and the 25 minutes end, and the task is not completed, this does not mean failure. Instead, the bell is cheering for the whole time you've been working for a while.
What is the tomato working method? Simply put, make a list of what you want to do the day, set a 25-minute alarm, and start with the first thing. There is also a daily review, daily commitment, interruption control, estimated time to spend, etc. I will use myself as an example to show you how to work with tomatoes, including how to record activities and how to pick out the most important tasks.
Do it yourself: Limit the time period for the activity
Start now: Try to complete the activity within a specific time period. Take out a paper and pen and list some of the things you want to do--what are you doing now, if you don't sneak up on the book? You may be filling out a form for a child's school, maybe checking some information on the Internet, writing an important email, or doing some other transactional work.
Look at the tasks you wrote down, which one is the most important? Which one would you most like to complete as soon as possible? Put the bookmark on this page, close your book and follow the steps below to do it:
Twist your kitchen timer and set the alarm to 10 minutes;
To concentrate on doing this particular task;
To the alarm bell, stop immediately, forget the task is not finished;
Rest for 3 minutes, then open the book and read on.
What do you think? In those 10 minutes just now, can you rule out distractions? Do you often watch watches?
Usually in the tomato working method, the alarm is set to 25 minutes, which is a "time box". If you would like to try it, read the full picture of the tomato work method in this way: read in a period of 25 minutes--of course, take the kitchen timer to pinch the time--and take 3 minutes to relax between each of the two reading cycles.
my grandfather Max.
Max went to Berlin in early 20th century and started a company that produced clothes and had a big business. Grandpa's success is due to his principles. His motto is: "A pair of feet cannot jump two dances at the same time." "In other words, do only one thing at a time.
Neither the motto, nor the tomato work law, is a firm refutation of the so-called "masterful"--to set boundaries for ourselves. So, how do you make yourself the most important thing? My approach to this is to first analyze the real problem, the "what I want to achieve", and then focus on the activities that will bring that result. Before I start, I have to twist the tomato bell, and then the tomato bell will ring, reminding me to stop and reconsider the activities I just focused on, is it still the top priority?
Today, "Attention management" is a big line, Max is a pioneer is also worthy of it!
Why should I use the tomato work method?
Now tell you how I used the tomato work law, see if you can prescription. The previous state was that the time was lost in my place, bam! One day, most of the things that were meant to be done were still the same. After a serious self-reflection, I find out the context of some problems. It is estimated that you are not unfamiliar with one or two of these questions. Here's a list of issues that are causing people to be unable to complete their work.
face complex, deterred . Those complicated tasks that fail in a 25-minute period often cause delays. Procrastination always makes us roses, but the problem does not disappear. Don't think about how complicated the task is, it's important to start and start again. Twist the tomato bell and you'll get a break in half an hour, and earn a rest as a reward.
the boredom of trifles, the more long-delayed . The unfinished work will not bring you any benefits. Of course, the finishing touches are usually boring. Don't always think about completing the whole thing you have to spend a lot of time, but want to finish this tomato clock actually not long. Finish it first and you'll get rewarded.
Small things busy day, big things like not . The tomato work law requires planning every morning and assigning a small number of activities to the day. Then, before each tomato clock, re-evaluate the priority of the activity, and the most important one to-do activity will be leap off. Make sure you're always doing the most important thing, not something else.
deadline, step-by -step. Overtime to late, weekends do not rest, over time, there will be no efficiency. Even if forced to add class, uncomfortable, also can not get good results. Tomato working method, with 25 minutes of short-term iteration to help you build the pace of sustainable development, rest assured rest, work wholeheartedly.
from the rest back to work, the mind adjustment not come over . Every morning just to work, or to come back to lunch smoked many, time often slips in front of you: Before the mind was pulled back to work, it was a minute and a second passed. Tomato working method is action-oriented, twist the tomato clock is the action, obey the bell is the action, fill out the "Today to Do" form is the action. Habit, make full use of the power of conditioned reflex.
one wrong again, not a long memory . To avoid making the same mistake the next day, the Tomato Work Act has three things to do before the end of the day: documenting, processing, and visualizing these daily retrospectives are key to improving your personal processes. Study every day, progress every day. One of the benefits is that you start by applying the tomato work method to your book, and then you can adjust your own work habits to form your own set of methods.
I didn't expect one thing to be done so long . Split the activity into small projects to make it clearer. It is estimated that if an activity requires more than 7 tomato clocks, it should be split. The tomato work method estimates each activity by comparing the "estimated number of tomatoes" and the "actual number of tomatoes used", allowing you to get instant feedback at every step. This part is related to "quantitative estimation".
I didn't expect one thing to be more complicated . Do you often get some minor tasks out of the way during the activity? No problem, in the tomato work method, you can fill in the "Unplanned Emergency" column, and then build on the main activities. This part is related to "qualitative estimate".
The mind is occupied by various ideas . Sometimes it's hard to focus on a single activity because other ideas are popping up for a moment. They should then be filled in the "unplanned emergency" form and then build on them to complete the activities at hand. If you want to concentrate, throw away all your distractions.
time is used to learn to adapt to complex work methods . The tomato working method is so simple that even my daughter who reads kindergarten will use it. No need for cloud computing, no time to deal with data, no special coaches to follow you, no need to chew the jargon. What's more, it's malleable, so you can adjust it at any time, and avoid turning it into a routine façade.
Only to bow to work, forget to look up the road . The brain needs a little time to consolidate memory, identify patterns, and make conclusions. Using the tomato work method, take a break every half hour, giving the brain a chance to absorb what was seen in the last tomato clock. Back to work, you will be able to list the whole world, and maybe 35 new ideas.
take the estimate as a promise . The time it takes for an exploratory activity or development activity to go ahead is unpredictable and can only be estimated as close as possible. Always take the estimate as a promise, whether it be to yourself or to colleagues, it will cause unnecessary anxiety. To avoid such dilemmas, the tomato work method only calculates tomato clocks. Even if the deadline is imminent, you can spend 25 minutes concentrating on what to do. However, you should also be able to communicate at any time so that the relevant people see things progress.
process Management, on paper. The "tracking" phase is the collection of real data for the full-day workflow, which can be used for daily review to improve the next day's process. What data to track, you decide, depends on the specific work status, but you can start by calculating the "number of interrupts" and "the number of tomatoes completed."
Lead not to go, with a backward . When someone pushes a bunch of crap over your head, can you still enjoy your work? The struggle between "must do" and "I want to do" began when the child was two years old. ② actually has a third option: "I choose". Using the tomato work method, possibilities every morning to choose the activities that can be done in the day. Instead of passively waiting for them to come to you, you actively pull the activity into the "today to Do" form, which helps to build up your new good employee image.
perfectionism, in the underfoot . "Wait, there's a more perfect plan" is actually another form of procrastination. The tomato work law does not give "procrastination" any chance. You can only go ahead and start a tomato clock without thinking about how to be "perfect". Twist the tomato bell, put in 25 minutes, and get an X and a break for the reward.
fear, scared Tiger, afraid of failure and criticism . Devote yourself to the tomato work law and let it be your process indicator, and let work rule. It only belongs to you, tailor-made for you. With the number of tomatoes done daily, you can increase your efficiency, do more work, and add fun to the mundane. The number of tomatoes is by no means allowed to be graded by your boss.
Do you have any of these common office problems around you? Some words are mentioned earlier, like tomato clocks , projections , tables ... It may make you feel foggy, it's okay, please read it with the question.
