Tplink Router router mode setting
Router mode, the router is equivalent to a wireless router, wired port as a WAN port, wireless LAN, all wireless clients can share a broadband line online. Its typical network application structure is shown in the following illustration.
The following is a quick way to set up a router in router mode.
Network parameter settings for a PC
Note: The router has only one wired interface, which is connected to the front-end device and is used as a WAN port. Because the computer cannot access the router's management interface through the WAN port, it needs to be wirelessly connected to the wireless router for configuration.
Routers do not open the DHCP server by default, the computer can not automatically assign IP address, so you need to configure the computer wireless network connection IP address, in order to access the router's management interface. Set the computer wireless network connection IP address to 192.168.1.X (1≤x≤252), and the subnet mask is set to: 255.255.255.0, as shown in the following figure. When the settings are complete, click "OK" to take effect. The router defaults to manage IP address "192.168.1.253".
Computer cable or wireless connection to the router (for example, wireless connection to the router in Windows XP system), the router factory defaults to work in AP mode, the default SSID is: Tp-link_pocketap_fffffe ("Fffffe" is the router's wireless MAC address after six bits), and wireless security is not set. The computer scans the wireless network in the environment, selects the router's wireless SSID, and clicks "Connect", after the connection, as shown in the following image.
The setup of the two routers
Step 1: Enter "192.168.1.253" in the browser, enter the login account number and password are admin, open the management interface of the router, automatically pop-up "Setup Wizard" (can also click the Admin Interface Menu "Setup Wizard"), as shown in the following figure.
Step 2: Click "Next" to start setting up the Wireless Working mode Settings page, as shown in the following figure.
Step 3: Select "Router" and click Next to eject the wireless Settings page as shown in the following figure.
In the page shown above, you can set the router's SSID (that is, the wireless network name). To prevent illegal users from rubbing the net, it is recommended to set wireless security, the recommended choice "WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK" and set the PSK password (this example is 123456789).
Step 4: Click "Next" to pop up the Internet way to select the page. Choose your broadband Internet access (here, for example, PPPoE dialing) and select PPPoE (ADSL virtual dial-up).
Step 5: Click "Next" to eject the Internet account and password input box, as shown in the following figure.
Step 6: Enter the broadband "Internet account" and "Internet password". Click "Next" to indicate that the device needs to be restarted, as shown in the following figure.
Click "Reboot", the router automatically restarts, Setup is complete.
Step 7: Reboot completes, when the wireless network of the router has been set to wireless security, the computer's wireless network connection will automatically disconnect, the wireless network that needs to reconnect the router (in this case the SSID is Tp-link_pocketap_fffffe), The wireless PSK password for the router to be entered during the connection process (123456789 in this case) is attached, as shown in the following figure.
Step 8: When the Setup Wizard sets the router mode and restarts the router, the DHCP server is automatically turned on, and the computer's wireless network connection can automatically obtain the IP address and the DNS server. So please reset the wireless network connection IP address to automatically obtain the IP address, click "OK" to be effective to connect to the Internet normally, as shown in the following figure.
Step 9: Reconnect the wireless connection to the router, enter the router management interface, click "Run Status" on the menu, and view the "WAN status" as shown in the following figure.
If you are viewing the IP and DNS server addresses that the router has acquired in the WAN status, the PPPoE dial-up success is indicated.
The router mode for this router has been configured and successfully connected to the Internet, and wireless networks have set up WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK wireless security. The computer already can connect the router to the Internet wirelessly, the other computer only needs to connect the router to be able to go online normally.
