Tplink vro IP and MAC address binding settings

Source: Internet

The MAC address of the computer is fixed, but the IP address can be set and changed. If the terminal arbitrarily modifies the IP address, it may cause a lan ip address conflict and affect normal use. If an ARP (IP-MAC matching relationship) attack software is installed on the terminal and spoofing information is sent, the network is unstable. Changing the IP address will cause the router to fail to control the terminal.

Based on the above considerations, setting up binding IP addresses and MAC addresses in environments with many terminals such as dormitories and companies can prevent problems caused by unauthorized IP address modification on terminals and ensure network stability.

This document describes how to bind an application to a vro IP address and a MAC address.

A small company has multiple office computers in the Lan and has assigned a fixed IP address to the computer. Now it needs to be bound to the vro, as shown below:

Host Name
MAC Address
Allocated IP Address
Xiao Zhang
F4-XX-XX-XX-XX-10
192.168.1.101
Xiao Li
08-XX-XX-XX-XX-86
192.168.1.100
Administrator
50-XX-XX-XX-XX-BD
192.168.1.102
Meaning:The preceding parameters are for reference only.

Log on to the vro management page and clickApplication ManagementTo enter the application center, as shown in the following figure:

Find the IP address bound to the MAC address, and clickEnter, As follows:

1 , Add binding entries

Select Add:You can view unbound entries in the list, find the target host, and clickAdd to binding settings, As follows:

Manually add:ClickAdd, Manually enter the bound entry information (how to view the terminal MAC address ?) As follows:

2 Confirm the binding list

After the host information is bound, you can view it in the binding settings list, as shown below:

3 Modify entries

You can click edit to modify the parameters of the corresponding entry, as shown below:

Now, the IP address and MAC address binding settings are complete.

1, Binding settings, computer modificationIPCan I access the Internet?

A: Yes. Because it is equivalent to a normal binding, the computer can still access the Internet by changing the IP address to an address outside the binding list.
2 Can an unbound host access the Internet?
A: If a host is not bound, you can access the internet normally.
3 Are two-way binding required?
A: bidirectional binding can reduce the risk of ARP spoofing to a greater extent. However, due to the diversity of terminals (more mobile terminals), it is not easy to bind the gateway IP address and MAC address to the terminal, if the network size is small, it is not recommended to set it.
