How to set up a wireless extender

1. Mobile phone Connection Extender default signal

Power the wireless extender on. Factory by default, the dual-band Wireless extender emits a wireless signal named Tp-link_re_xxxx or tp-link_5g_re_xxxx (x is the four-bit MAC address).

Extender has two wireless signals by default

Many users are connected to other Wi-Fi signals, resulting in the inability to enter the interface. So be sure to connect this "default" signal.

If the factory default signal is not found, it may have been set, and it is recommended to reset the Extender.

2. Access to the Extender management interface

After successfully connecting the wireless signal of the extender, open the mobile browser, manually enter tplogin.cn or 192.168.1.253 in the address bar (some mobile phone may automatically eject the login Settings page), you need to set up a 6-bit and above the management extender password, set the completion of the click "Login" ：

Select the signal (if the search is not found, the signal may be too weak (adjust the distance between the Extender and the router) or for the Chinese signal (please change the main signal to the letter), enter the wireless password to extend the 2.4G signal, click "Next":

Precautions:

1. If you can not confirm the wireless password input is correct, you can click the Password box after the eye icon, display password.

2. The wireless name of the Extender is the same as the router signal name to enable roaming.

4. Expand the 5G wireless signal according to the prompts

Next, the Extender automatically scans the surrounding 5G signal, waits for a while, and selects the 5G signal you want to extend in the list of scanned signals. Then enter the wireless password for the extended 5G signal and click "Save":

Precautions:

1, the front-end main router (or AP) wireless does not support 5G, then click Skip.

2. Extending both the 2.4G and 5G signals requires that the 2.4G and 5G signals of the same router (or AP) be extended.

5. Extended Success

After confirming that the extension parameters are correct, click "Start Expansion". When the settings are complete, observe the LED status according to the page prompts, and if green or orange is displayed, the extension is successful.

Note: If the 5G signal is not extended, the 5G signal of the wireless extender will be modified by default to 5g_zhangsan (the name of the 2.4G signal plus 5g_) and the wireless password is the same as 2.4G.

6. Terminal Connection Extender Internet access

After the extension succeeds, the factory default signal of the extender disappears and the wireless name and password of the transmitter are exactly the same as the original router's signal. At this point, please insert the Extender before the weaker area of the signal (do not go too far), about 30 seconds to wait for the expansion of the success, Orange means that the Extender is too far away from the main router, green is advisable.
