You can use either of the following methods to solve this problem.
Method 1: Specify the host name (if NTLM authentication is required, use the preferred method)
The specified host name is mapped to the loopback address and can be connected to the Web site on your computer. follow these steps:
- Set the registry key where disablestrictnamechecking is set to 1. 281308 () http://support.microsoft.com/kb/281308/connect to SMB to share a Windows 2000-based computer or a Windows Server 2003-based computer may not be able to use aliases
- ClickStart, ClickRun, Type regedit, and then clickOK
- In the Registry Editor, locate and click the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ LSA \ msv1_0
- Right-clickMsv1_0, PointingNewAnd then clickMulti-string value.
- Type backconnectionhostnames and press Enter.
- Right-clickBackconnectionhostnamesAnd then clickModify.
- InNumerical dataIn the dialog box, enter the host name or Host Name of the website on the local computer, and then clickOK.
- Exit Registry Editor and restart the IISADMIN service.
Method 2: Disable loop check (not recommended)
The second method is to setDisableloopbackcheckDisable loop check for registry items.
To setDisableloopbackcheckFor the registry key, perform the following steps:
- Set the registry key where disablestrictnamechecking is set to 1. 281308 () http://support.microsoft.com/kb/281308/connect to SMB to share a Windows 2000-based computer or a Windows Server 2003-based computer may not be able to use aliases
- ClickStart, ClickRun, Type regedit, and then clickOK
- In the Registry Editor, locate and click the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ LSA
- Right-clickLSA, PointingNewAnd then clickDWORD Value.
- Type disableloopbackcheck and press Enter.
- Right-clickDisableloopbackcheckAnd then clickModify.
- InNumerical dataBox, type 1, and then clickOK.
- Exit Registry Editor and restart the computer.
