Ubuntu Hangs and sleeps
I've never been concerned about this before, because it used to be on the desktop with Ubuntu, and the notebook was always windows. As Windows becomes more and more stupid, and recently decided to turn a common system into Ubuntu before noticing the difference between suspend and hibernate, here's mark:
==============================================
What is the difference between hibernation and suspend? 》
Suspend ==suspend to RAM (STR)
Hibernate ==suspend to Disk (STD)
The memory is still working after it hangs, and all devices stop working after hibernation.
Hangs faster than hibernation and recovers faster.
"Ubuntu hangs Dormant"
Suspend is to suspend the hard disk, the current state of the computer is loaded into memory, that is, the hard drive to stop power, but the memory power. The advantage is that the recovery is fast, the disadvantage is to keep the power supply, power outage will have to restart.
Hibernation is to save the current state of the system to a dormant file in the hard disk, and then all the devices shut down, you can safely turn off the power, the next restart, will automatically call the hard disk saved files, restore to the state before the shutdown.
The advantage is that power is not required and can sleep for a long time, with the disadvantage of slow recovery (relative to hang).
Suspend recovery as long as 2, 3 seconds, soon. Sleep recovery takes more than 10 seconds, slower than hang, but a lot faster.
==============================================
Soga, it's so clear. So when you're ready to leave, you should be sleeping when you cover your computer.
