VMware has failed to use SSH sharing on Ubuntu, and the following error occurred:
The host ' 192.168.59.128 ' is unreachable, and the host may be down,or there are a problem with the network connection.
Sometimes such problems can also be caused by a misconfigured firewall
Through the online inquiry, the solution is mainly the following three points:
1. Whether the network is ping: first use Ifconfig to find out the Ubuntu connection IP, and then use the command to see if ping, ping +{ip} such as my machine: ping 192.168.59.128 If the ping general is the following interface:
2.Ubuntu Firewall and Windows Firewall are off;
My host is WIN10 system, virtual machine is Ubuntu system;
2.1 Turn off WIN10 firewall:
2.2 Turn off the Ubuntu system firewall:
To view the status of the firewall UFW: sudo ufw status I'm here to be closed
Be sure to shut down again under: sudo ufw disable
3. Check if the SSH service is started:
3.1 Of course you have to have the installation command: Apt-get install SSH
3.2 View whether to start the service and use port 22:
NETSTAT-ANTP | grep sshd
For example, there is.
The problem is:
However, to meet the above 3 conditions I still can not use the SSH service;
Did not get out one night, SSH software reload also can not solve;
Workaround: Change the Ubuntu network connection mode, I changed My network connection from NAT to bridging mode, the problem is resolved
(Note: Everyone's use of the environment is different, I only share my)
because my computer is to use the route alone Internet and is dynamic IP automatic acquisition, so should choose Bridge, found also can surf the Internet (at the time of the first install can not surf the Internet only to NAT), but the IP has changed; (As for my choice NAT also can surf the internet I am also very puzzled);
Change network settings: (If you can ping the changes)
Then open the SSH client to connect: (Success)
The above is purely to share, if misleading please forgive me, I just started the novice Linux, so with the help of the network must share in the network, thank you
