Ubuntu system with root user login tutorial:
1. Open the terminal, first use the command sudo passwd root and then enter the password
2. Enter Su-Toggle user Rights
3. Two ways of configuration
1) New lightdm.conf file can be created
$gedit/etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf
Fill in the following content, then restart, select "Login" to enter the root user password:
[Seatdefaults]
User-session=ubuntu
Greeter-show-manual-login=true
2) You can also edit the 50-ubuntu.conf file
$gedit/usr/share/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/50-ubuntu.conf
Then add two lines of code
Greeter-show-manual-login=true
Allow-guest=false
After the modification, save the file, and finally restart the system can be used to log on to the Ubuntu system root.
Greeter-show-manual-login=true
This means that the user is allowed to enter their user name and password at logon.
Then set the login password for the root user, set the way for Ubuntu to set the password for the root user for the first time
Once the setup is complete, you can log on to the desktop using the root user after rebooting the system.
4, configure the root automatic login
Can edit lightdm.conf
$gedit/etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf
Add the following content, the same reboot, log in with the root login:
[Seatdefaults]
Autologin-user=root
Greeter-session=unity-greeter
User-session=ubuntu
Greeter-show-manual-login=true
Allow-guest=false
