get this library method under Ubuntu:
Download Winetricks:
wgetHttp://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks 
ensure that you have Execute permissions:
chmod +x winetricks
(Optional: Place the file under a system folder such as/usr/local/bin)

Install Cabextract:
Aptitude Install Cabextract
Execution
winetricks mfc42

The recommended the doing this under Wine was to follow the instructions on the Wine wiki:

1. Download winetricks:

   wget http://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks

2. Make it executable:

   chmod +x Winetricks

   (Optional:place the file in a system directory such as /usr/local/bin)
   
3. Install cabextract:

   Aptitude Install Cabextract

   (Actually, I ' m not sure it's necessary for fixing the MFC problem, but it's definitely recommended for fixing other Wine p Roblems)
4. Run

   Winetricks mfc42

If prompted cannot find MFC42. DLL. Re-install this application, simply copy the Mfc42.dll and Msvcp60.dll under Windows XP to the same folder as the *.exe. Windows 7 version of the Mfc42 file has many, the same name, and the size of a different function, and even a large number of other dependent libraries, the version is too high instead of debugging.
