To use a Windows XP shared printer in Ubuntu, install Samba first:
Sudo aptitude install samba
Then, go to system-system management-print to create a printer. Select the "Network Printer" at the bottom, Windows
Printer via samba,
Enter the IP address and user name and password, browse the shared printer, and select, for example, maid. After entering the drive, select a brand, such as HP. Select a model, such as HP
LaserJet 1300 series PostScript [En] [recommended]. Complete.
Printer address: SMB: // 192.168.12.112/maid
To print.
