Installing the GTX1080 Drive

Go to the NVIDIA network, download the GTX1080 driver, start the search, and then download the required version. I downloaded the latest 384.130.

can also be downloaded here.

After the download is complete, save as a backup to refresh the new driver.

Add Nvidia Source

    sudo add-apt-repository Ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa  

If the information is not considered, press ENTER directly.

sudo apt-get update   sudo apt-get install nvidia-384  sudo apt-get install mesa-common-dev   sudo apt-get Install Freeglut3-dev

Disable Nouveau

Press CTRL+ALT+F1 to enter the command prompt and create a new blacklist file:

sudo vi/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-nouveau.conf  

Input

Blacklist nouveau    options nouveau modset=0  

Save, exit. Then, execute

sudo update-initramfs-u    

Check

If there is no output, it represents normal.

Installing the video driver

If you do not close the desktop program, you will not be able to complete the installation:

sudo service lightdm stop  #sudo start LIGHTDM: restart

CTRL+ALT+F1: Switch to the command line for action

#现切换到下载好的驱动包目录sudo SH nvidia-linux-x86_64-384.130.run

Then reboot.

Verify that the installation was successfully entered

Nvidia-smi
