How can we migrate all the data of iTunes perfectly? [Windows 7 Environment]

1. premise: your iTunes is installed by default and installed under the traditional C drive program files, so your iTunes will have three types of large-scale data to continuously fill your poor C drive space, which are:

  • ITunes backup Folder: C:/users/your current user name/appdata/Roaming/Apple Computer/mobilesync/backup/[usage: this folder backs up your system, and can be encrypted by iTunes, the contents are encrypted]
  • ITunes Database: [This is actually not big] C:/users/your username/music/iTunes [use: the iTunes library in it. the ITL file is similar to the configuration file and is the core configuration file of iTunes]
  • ITunes media Folder: [This is located in a sub-directory of C:/users/your username/music/iTunes. You can modify the settings through iTunes for Migration.] [usage: by default, this folder backs up all the things you add to iTunes, such as songs, videos, books, and applications]

2. iTunes media folder Migration: This is the simplest, because iTunes provides the modification method, such:

If you do not want to back up several copies of music and videos, deselect the option above, that is, copy the files to the iTunes media folder when adding them to the database.

2. how to move the backup folder in iTunes: [this method is not used before. It is actually very easy to use the mklink command to create a link, it is strange why Apple does not select such a backup folder in iTunes], CMD:

Mklink/J "C:/users/your username/appdata/Roaming/Apple Computer/mobilesync/backup" "F: /Video/itunes_vide/backup "[the second address is the location where you want to migrate data. Note that the first folder should be cut to the destination so that it does not exist, you can create a link. Otherwise, an error is reported.]

Through this method, we can see that many computer migration tools are actually very simple. They all use mklink commands, including the file migration on the 360 security guard interface. This is probably the same.

[This tool is also available in Vista and win7. If XP is used, you should use the tool on your own]

This kind of migration is seamless under win7, and you can still see the corresponding files on drive C, but they are just some shortcuts. When itunus writes files to this folder on drive C, the file is automatically transferred to the migration location.

3. iTunes Database: [this database file is actually very small. It should only record some parameters or something, here, I wrote about its migration mainly by reading a post on the Internet to migrate it to iTunes media, as I mentioned earlier, the migration of the iTunes media Folder does not require any special means. It can be configured in iTunes, so the migration here has no practical significance and is only for learning]

Steps:

1. Disable iTunes

2. Open my document-my music

3. Cut the iTunes folder to the location you want to move to (such as D :/)

4. Go back to the desktop, hold down the Shift key, right-click the iTunes icon, and select Open (Note: Hold down shift until the dialog box appears)

5. Click "select database", find iTunes library. ITL (for example, D:/iTunes library. ITL) in the location where the iTunes folder is moved, and click "OK.

6. After iTunes is opened, all programs are in the past, but right-click the program icon and choose windows Resource Manager.

The solution is to press Ctrl + A to select and delete all programs. In this step, select "Retain file"

7. Finally, select all the apps in the mobile Applications folder in the iTunes folder and drag them to iTunes.

[Note that if you have completed step 3, that is, the migration of the media folder, steps 6 and 7 are not required, because C: the media Folder does not exist in the/users/your username/music/iTunes folder. In Step 1 above: you can find the program icon by right-clicking it and displaying it in Windows Resource Manager.
