Tutorial the fourth chapter: installation and simple use of Ultrade plug-in

Using Plug-ins can help us quickly implement some of the features, eliminating the pain of a lot of programming. Previously Dreamweaver and Ultradev plug-ins are to manually copy files to the appropriate directory to work, for unfamiliar friends in this regard is a more troublesome thing, to the 4.0 version of the time Marcomedia used a name extention Manager's tools to help users install Plug-ins, and the form of Plug-ins has become *.MXP.

Extention Manager is installed with Dreamweaver or Ultradev, and we can open it by starting the-〉 program-〉macromedia extention Manager to display the following interface:

The display interface is straightforward, and the two buttons on the left side of the toolbar are installed and uninstalled respectively. The window below the toolbar lists the name, version, type, author, and other information of the plugin you are installing. The following window lists the purpose of the plug-in and some caveats or simple ways to use it. As shown in the figure above.

If you want to install a new plug-in, you can directly double-click your plug-in file, the system will automatically call Extention Manager for installation, you can also click on the Extention Manager toolbar above the Install button to install, and then you choose to install the plug-in:

At the beginning of the installation, you will be asked to agree with the Macromedia statement, roughly some of which may not be used as a commercial quality communication and so on. Decline out of the installer, so we certainly chose accept:)

Where do we go to find plug-ins? It is recommended to go to Macromedia's home, where a plug-in center is available, with Ultradev users around the world providing plug-ins. Classified science, there are also search to help you quickly find the plug-ins you want.

Below I give you a simple introduction to the use of plug-ins.

Plugin Name: DHTML outlines

Version: 1.7.7

Type: Object

This is an object plug-in that creates a Drop-down menu in the form of a resource manager (a collapsed tree). This plugin is to be ie4 above or Netscape 6 (mentioned in the plugin introduction in the figure).

After installation, you can open the plugin's settings panel from the object panel or from the menu Insert-> outlines.

The control Panel for the plug-in is simple, as shown in the picture:

Select the Details tab, we can see that the Panel has a total of three places available for us to set up.

Base name for outlines: This is for you to fill out, but the requirement is a valid name, he's just in a minute. The role of a parameter in the JavaScript code to be generated will not be displayed in the Web page. Note that you cannot include spaces.

ADD Heading: Is the tree trunk that you want to display on the Web page, and the contents of the branch will be modified in the Web page later. As shown in the figure:

Text Indent of child Items: The number of indented branches, you can choose according to your own needs. The image above shows the default indent effect.

Include Latin Filler Text: It's probably just a section of Latin to describe the description, it doesn't matter, you can use the default value false.
Click Create after the plugin generated such a page:

The next thing we do is to change the contents of the Black bottom section for what you want to display, as shown above. After the modification is complete, preview.

Looking at the Web page source code, we can see:

< div id= "HelloParenthello3" class= "exheading" >hello3</div >

< div id= "HelloChildhello3" style= "Cursor:auto" class= "exindent" >hello world!! </div >

In this way, it is easy to create a folding tree dynamically from the data in the database, simply replace the field to be displayed with the Hello world!!, such as <%=rs ("filename")%>.
