In Ubuntukylin 13.10, package dependencies and cannot be resolved either in the Software Center installation wine or through Apt-get install installation wine.

First (This step is sometimes not required):
sudo dpkg--add-architecture i386
And then:
sudo apt-get install ppa-purge
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa && sudo apt-get update
sudo Apt-get Install wine1.5
You can successfully install wine.
