WLAN is becoming increasingly popular in enterprise applications. Like all new technologies, the demand for performance improvement has become increasingly urgent. At present, most WLAN applications use a GHz frequency band, and the penetration and diffraction capabilities are still flawed. However, construction and large-scale operating equipment in the enterprise environment can easily cause blind spots of WLAN coverage. To extend the coverage of wireless networks, common solutions include adding access point devices (AP), reconnections or switches, increasing the signal sensitivity of WLAN devices, and increasing the signal transmission power. However, these solutions have the following Disadvantages:

1. Adding a device increases the cost and complexity of operation and maintenance.

2. The installation conditions of access point devices in the enterprise environment are difficult to meet.

3. high transmission power will overload the receiving device, and also increase in-band and out-of-band electromagnetic interference, affecting the normal operation of devices in adjacent channels.

4. high emission power cannot reduce the influence of building multi-path scattering.

According to the reporter's understanding, at present, the only professional Mesh-Wifi equipment manufacturer in China -- Shanghai huichuang communication (GBCOM), in its MESH network, uses the multi-hop feature, A non-conventional seamless coverage technology-MESH terminal relay was developed. Multi-hop refers to the use of a terminal as a relay in the traditional "server/client" topology to transmit signals to farther nodes to improve coverage, the system capacity is also increased due to the relay gain.

On the other hand, because the communication between any link in the traditional point-to-point structure must go through the base station, even if the two terminals are very close, the signal must be transmitted to the base station, the base station then transmits the data to the target terminal, coupled with the overhead of signaling interaction, which wastes a lot of resources. To avoid such waste, the concept of multi-point to multi-point is introduced, that is, any two points in the network can be freely communicated to achieve faster, convenient, and economical data transmission.

Through multi-hop, the base station device uses Terminal relay to provide a wider range of end-to-end communication distance through a series of terminal nodes, while providing sufficient data transmission rates. Compared with the distance between the sending end and the receiving end, the distance between each node (per hop) can be relatively short, and each hop can achieve a much higher data transmission rate than direct communication, in this way, long-distance end-to-end communication systems can also support high data transmission rates. That is to say, Mesh networking makes high data transmission rates and coverage no longer a contradiction, but can satisfy both. In the Mesh network, each node only needs to transmit a short distance, so their transmission power is relatively small, which greatly reduces interference in the system and enables more intensive frequency reuse. In addition, because data can be transmitted by the intermediate node, the Mesh network allows the signal to bypass the obstacle and build a robust route for the obstruction of the local network.

GBCOM can provide MESH terminal devices with the relay function. In addition to all functions of common WLAN terminals, GBCOM can provide the relay function to extend coverage to the original blind zone and increase network coverage, this provides a completely new solution for deploying your wireless network.
