Use pc3000 to decrypt a laptop hard disk
Author: Gaoke data recovery
1. view the hard disk status
Connect the decrypted hard disk to the pc3000at main menu interface. Press the Del key on the keypad to view the current parameter table of the hard disk. Go to the last page to view the following information:
Password Established: Yes. If yes, a password is set for the disk. If no, no password is set for the disk. HDD locked: Yes indicates whether the disk has been locked by a password.
Sequrity level: maximal indicates the security level of password lock. There are only two cases: high and maximal. At the high level, you can use the master password for unlock, and all data is lossless. At the maximal level, you cannot use the master password for unlock. Instead, you can use the erase command to write zero to unlock all data, all data is lost. Master code: $ fffe if $ fffe is used here, that is, the master password of the disk is the default value at the factory. Master code: $ fffe if $ fffe is used here, that is, the master password of the disk is the default value at the factory time. If it is $0000, it means that the master password of the disk is not the default value at the factory time.
General unlock method:
1. If you know the user's original password, you can press the keyboard's 6 keys (or the right arrow key) under the PC-3000AT main menu, select "disk sequrity commands" --- "unlock disk ", enter the correct password and press Enter. If the operation is successful, the unlock is successful. Then, Run "Clear password" to completely clear the password set by the user. In this case, the data is not damaged.
2. If you do not know the password, but the master password is $ fffe and the sequrity level is high, the unlock steps are the same as above. However, when entering the password, you must select password type: Master and enter the correct master password.
3. If you do not know the password, but the master password is $ fffe and the sequrity level is maximal, Run "disk sequrity commands"-"set password ", enter the correct master password and run "erase disk ". After tens of minutes of data clearing, the hard disk can be restored to the usable state, but all the original data is lost.
4. If you do not know the User-Defined password or master password, you need to remove the password in a special way.
Special Unlock methods
1. Find an unencrypted normal hard disk of the same type as the disk to be decrypted and with the same firmware version.
2, with the "set password" in the PC-3000AT, set a simple and easy to remember user password, such as "123456"; power off and then power
3. Use the "unlock disk" in the PC-3000AT and deliberately enter a wrong password (such as "ABCD"), you will see a prompt that the operation is not successful. At this point, the module that stores the correct password in the hard disk has been automatically read to the buffer zone in the hard disk circuit board.
4. Use sleep to sleep the hard disk.
5. Carefully remove the hard disk circuit board, switch to the bottom of the disk to be unlocked, and install the screws. This is a live operation, so be very careful! Note that the IDE interface and Power interface should not be loose.
6. Use "unlock disk" and enter your own password, for example, "123456 ". If you are prompted that the operation is successful, continue to the next command "Clear password" to complete the unlock process. Then, switch back to the original circuit board.
