Installation and fallback of AIX TL
Patching, especially the TL upgrade, is risky. Therefore, we recommend to upgrade the TL and patching in the production system need to do a good risk assessment, to ensure that the upgrade after the problem can be rolled back to the original state. AIX OS can do this very well.

YESInstructs the system to save previous versions of software, is being replaced. In case of a failed installation, choosing YES allows the cleanup procedure to restore the previous version of the Softwar E. If you chose NO for "COMMIT software?" and then you must choose YES to "SAVE replaced files?". Choosing YES require some additional space to save replaced files. Choosing YES also requires more installation time because of the extra processing for saving files.
NOInstructs the system isn't to save previous versions of software while it's being replaced. In case of a failed installation, the previous version of the software cannot was restored and is marked broken. You must reinstall the software update if this occurs.
Fallback TL1.smitty reject, select the software that needs to be rolled back at Software Name 2. The screen returns to OK means that the rollback is complete oslevel-r check if the TL is successfully rolled back
