Use a 3G Nic In ubuntu 10.10

After I replace my local file with Ubuntu, the original 3G Nic of China Telecom cannot be used. The driver was finally downloaded from the official website, so that the 3G Nic was used to access the network.

1. Download the driver from the Official Website Based on the NIC model.

2. decompress and install

Chinatelecom.tar.gz driver install jre-1_6_0_14-linux-i586.bin readme.txt
Jerry @ jerry-ThinkPad-R61 :~ /Downloads/linux_install $ sudo./install

 

3. After the installation is successful, you can use

You can use the Java code provided by China TelecomProgram. However, it is slow.

 

Alternatively, you can choose system> preference> network connections> mobile broadban to create a connection by yourself. In this way, dialing is much faster than the built-in dialing program of China Telecom.

 

Note:When you log out using network connection, you may not be able to connect again. In this case, you can take down the modem-manager and try again. I don't know why, but it does.

$ Sudo pkill modem-Manager
