Use external force to keep ADSL Bandwidth Resources under control

Most home users use the ADSL dial-up method to surf the Internet. However, in this environment, once we activate the eMule or BT application, these applications tend to "Occupy" all limited ADSL bandwidth resources without hesitation, so that other network applications cannot run normally. As the application "master" of the program, can we only watch the eMule or BT application forcibly occupy the ADSL bandwidth resources?

In fact, we can use professional network management tools to effectively control ADSL bandwidth resources, so that every network application can work normally in the ADSL dial-up Internet environment. This document uses the common NetLimiter Network Management Program as the operating blueprint. Using this program, we can not only control the upload and download bandwidth resources of various network applications at will, in addition, it can monitor and control all ADSL Bandwidth Resources in real time, and even limit the bandwidth resources that a single online user can use!

Understanding external NetLimiter tools

The NetLimiter tool is a network bandwidth resource adjustment control program that can separately control and limit the bandwidth resources required by any network application in the local workstation, for example, you can independently set the upload bandwidth of an application, or independently set the download bandwidth of an application to ensure that each network application can work quickly under limited bandwidth resources. In addition, the NetLimiter tool can also timely limit the Intranet access speed and Internet access speed of the local workstation to ensure that the limited ADSL bandwidth resources are used wherever possible.

Borrow external force to control bandwidth resource allocation

To use the bandwidth resource control function of NetLimiter to allocate the access egress bandwidth of each network application, first, we must download the NetLimiter installation program from the Internet to the hard disk where the local workstation system is located, and then install the network control program according to the common method.

After the program is installed, the system will prompt us to restart the Operating System. Otherwise, the NetLimiter tool will not be able to provide the necessary bandwidth resource control function. After the system is restarted, the NetLimiter tool will be started along with the system. Considering that the shared version is installed here, we can only click the "Continue" button to try it out.

When the local workstation and the network are normally connected, the NetLimiter tool will automatically display a prompt window asking whether the local connection belongs to the LAN connection or the Internet connection. We must make the correct selection according to the actual situation; generally, if the Local connection is connected to the Intranet, We must select "Local network" in the "zone" setting as shown in. If the Local connection is directly connected to the Internet, select "Internet.

When allocating bandwidth resources for each network application, we first need to set the speed unit of the broadband access connection. By default, the speed unit of the NetLimiter program is Byte ), in the broadband dial-up Internet environment, we usually set the network access speed unit to KB). When setting the network access speed unit, you can click the "Units" drop-down button on the NetLimiter interface to select an appropriate unit option from the pop-up drop-down list, for example, selecting KB ).

After setting the network access speed unit, we can now allocate suitable bandwidth resources to each network application. Then, click the number on the right of the box at the "Outgoing" of the expected option, and enter the bandwidth resource we want the target program to use in the settings box that appears later.

For example, to limit the bandwidth consumed by the "nlclient" application to less than 700 KB, you only need to enter "" here, click the Enter key, and then select the box next to the corresponding number, in this way, the egress access bandwidth of the "nlclient" application is limited to less than kb. Similarly, to limit the download bandwidth of a network program, you only need to enter the appropriate bandwidth in the "Incoming" of the corresponding application.
Use external force to control local network speed

In addition to effectively controlling the bandwidth resources of each network application, we can also use NetLimiter to limit the network connection speed of the local LAN, we can prevent other users in the LAN from storing or copying a large amount of information at will in the local workstation, resulting in serious Abnormal Running Speed of the local workstation.

When limiting the speed of Local network connection, you must first select "Local network" in the "zone" Settings, and then select the Local workstation name on the interface.

Enter an appropriate egress bandwidth or entry bandwidth speed in the "Incoming" setting item or "Outgoing" setting item of the workstation, the specific setting method is the same as the bandwidth resource allocation method for each network application. Of course, considering that the bandwidth of the LAN is usually "MB", when we limit the access speed of the local network connection, you can select "MB" as the speed unit for network access in the "Units" drop-down list ".
