Use Dreamweaver to describe images

Tracing Image is a feature added in Dreamweaver 2.0, but we still need to mention it when introducing Dreamweaver 4.0. To better understand a strange thing, a good way is to make a thorough and comprehensive comparison with something similar but already familiar to people, let's take a look at its similarities and differences with what we usually call background images:

Similarities: Tracing images are the same as background images in the background of a page. I think they are the only similarities.

Differences:

1. The Tracing Image will not be tiled by Dreamweaver (for a background Image, it will be tiled if the Image size is smaller than the page size .)

2. You can specify the transparency of the Tracing Image. 3. The Tracing Image is only visible in Dreamweaver and is ignored in the browser.

4. When the Tracing Image is visible in Dreamweaver, the background Image and background color will become invisible. However, you can select whether to display the Tracing Image or background Image.

The following is a Tracing Image displayed in the document window (see figure 1 ).

The procedure is as follows:

1. First, we need to create a model image. You can use any image editing application you like to create this model image, as long as you finally save it as GIF, JPG, JPEG, or PNG format. In the future, we will use this model image as a wizard to create a page layout. That is to say, first design and make a page layout that has already been mirrored, then put it into the page as a Tracing Image, and then draw the line according to the layout of the Image, this is good for complex page layout in the overall planning.

2. Next, I will put this image model on the desired page. Select View> Tracing Image> Load. A dialog box is displayed. Find your Image model and Select it. Then, click [Select].

3. The Page Properties dialog box appears immediately. Drag the slider to specify the transparency of the image and click [OK]. You can select "Modify → Page Properties" at any time to select another Tracing Image or change the transparency of the current Tracing Image.

4. Figure 2 shows how I put my Tracing Image on the page (I set the transparency to 70% ).

5. After loading the Tracing Image, I observed that the Tracing Image does not seem to be in the center of the document. Therefore, I decided to adjust the position. Select View → Tracing Image → Adjust Position ". In the displayed dialog box, enter the coordinates of X and y axes (default position: 8, 11), and click [OK].

In addition to adjusting the location, you can also use the following options:

Show -- used to hide and display a Tracing Image. When a Tracing Image is hidden, the background image and background color can be displayed (of course, when you set them ).
