Some time ago, I installed Ubuntu and broke the windows boot. Now I want to sort out the installation principles and procedures to meet the demand.
Ubuntu uses the grub boot program by default. If grub is written to MBR, the system enters grub after startup, and then chooses to boot to Linux or windows. However, this is inconvenient.
Therefore, you can use easybcd as the boot program to guide multiple operating systems, including windows, Linux, and Mac OS. It is to guide grub to Ubuntu through easybcd.
Step 1:
Download and install easybcd
Step 2:
Install ubuntu. decompress the ISO file, and initrd under the Casper directory. the two files LZ and vmlinuz are decompressed to the root directory of the C drive, and then the ISO file is placed under the root path of a partition.
Step 3:
Under add new entry, select neogrub and configure. In the pop-up menu. List, enter:
title Ubuntu 12.04 installroot (hd0,0)kernel /vmlinuz boot=casper iso-scan/filename=/linux.iso ro quiet splashinitrd /initrd.lzboot
PS: Linux. ISO is the name of your image, which can be modified as needed
(Hd0, 0) is a 1st partition with 1st hard disk bits.
Step 4:
Restart your computer and you will find that there will be a neogrubbootloader in the boot menu. After selecting this option, you will enter the Ubuntu disc system. Before installing the system, you must first remove the mounted hard disk system (your understanding ), enter:
Sudo umount-L/isodevice
Step 5:
An important issue to be aware of during installation. The grub boot system cannot be installed in the hard disk MBR, that is, do not directly select the hard disk, but select the root directory of the Ubuntu installation partition, otherwise, grub will overwrite easybcd. If it is unfortunately overwritten, you can use the Windows System Disk for restoration (personal experience ). Or you can use fdisk on the fault recovery platform of Windows 7 (Press F8 in the boot menu and select repair computer)
/MBR To fix MBR. (I have not tried it. I don't know if it works)
Step 6:
After the installation is complete, the Ubuntu system should be able to enter windows, but not ubuntu. At this time, add the Ubuntu boot item to the new entry in easybcd. Then there will be the Ubuntu option at the next startup.
Ubantu partition:The disk management tool in Linux analyzes the partition/dev/SDA in the hard disk to indicate your first hard disk (SD indicates that the hard disk of the SATA interface is hda for the IDE interface) /sda1 is the first partition on the first SATA interface hard disk.
If you select a Windows partition, remember to leave a part of the space, because Linux also needs a swap partition (equivalent to the virtual memory in Windows) size equivalent to the memory size
1.5Times is quite reasonable. I use half of the memory. After all, I have 2 GB of memory. However, this is also the reason why I cannot sleep.
When partitioning, remember to leave some space for the swap partition.
The entire LINUX partition hard disk (excluding swap partition) is called the file system, and the mount point is equivalent to the partition in windows.
/This is the linux root directory. It is a top-level directory. If you set a partition mount point to/home, the/home directory is a partition.
Only Mount/here. If you only install linux on your computer, we recommend that you mount a partition in/home/usr/local.
/Home is the user directory/usr/local, which is generally used to install software, just like the Program Files folder in windows. Main reference: http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_513d72c90100k1us.htmlhttp://www.nenew.net/ubuntu-12-04-hard-disk-install-tutorial.html
