Use FTP commands on Mac Terminals

1. Connect to the FTP server

Format: ftp [hostname | IP-address]

A) FTP ftp.drivehq.com

B) The server asks you for your username and password. Enter the password.

2. Download an object

The get and mget commands are usually used to download files.

A) Get

Format: Get [Remote-file] [local-file]

Transfers a single file from the remote host to the local host.

B) mget

Format: mget [Remote-files]

Transfers multiple files from the remote host to the local host.

To obtain all files under the cahce directory on the server

FTP & gt; CD/rcache

FTP & gt; mget *.*

3. upload files

A) Put

Format: put local-file [Remote-file]

Transfers a file from the local host to the remote host.

B) mput

Transfers a batch of files from the local host to the remote host.

To upload all the ODT files in the local directory to the server doc directory

FTP & gt; CD/doc

FTP & gt; mput *. ODT

4. Disconnect

Bye: the connection to the server is interrupted.

FTP & gt; bye

In addition, the default local directory is home.
