What is global menu )? If you have used Mac OS X, you will understand what it is.
Global menu is usedProgramThe menu is concentrated on the above version, bringing another desktop operation mode.
As early as a year ago, ldcn issued a relatedArticle: Beautify OS X further: Mac menu bar for feisty !. At that time, it was still the feisty platform named Mac menu bar, and the installation was quite tedious.
Currently, using global menu on the gutsy platform or fedora is more convenient and secure.

My platform is Gutsy, so we only use gutsy as an example. For more information about fedora, see installationguidefedora.
It is very easy to install global menu. First download the following package and decompress it to any location you want, such ~ /Gnome-globalmenu:
Gnome-globalmenu-0.4.2_ubuntu-gusty-svn679.tar.gz
Then, open the terminal and enter Cd ~ /Gnome-globalmenu, enter the folder, and execute the following command:
Sudo dpkg-I *. Deb
After installation, edit ~ /. Gnomerc (normally this file does not exist, you need to create a new one), just add a line:
Export gtk_modules = libgnomenu
Okay, restart it!
After you re-enter the desktop, you will find that all gnome software is the same, there is no difference. Next, right-click "add to panel" on the panel and select "Global menubar" in miscellaneous. OK. If you are running a gnome software, you will find that the menu on the software suddenly ran to the Panel version.
This is the benefit of the latest global menu. You can choose to use or disable global menu at any time, as long as you enable or disable the global menubar panel program.
