began to use more and more Google services, Gmail, gtalk, google reader, igoogle, google Input method, Picasa, google Notebook, google Group, recently began to use Google Calendar, so I can have an online calendar. I created the "work" in Google Calendar, "family", "personal" and "other", to share the "family" with joy, so that the family-related schedule (such as our anniversary, baby's birthday, baby vaccination days) can be managed at the same time, and receive timely notice. It also introduces some common holidays, such as lunar calendar, Chinese holidays and Singapore holidays. If you add a calendar widget to igoogle, you can see your schedule on the Google home page (if you set the igoogle as I did).
But the most I use in my job is Outlook, which is used to manage email, calendar, address book and so on, and I looked it up on Google today, through the Internet Calendar feature of Outlook 2007, Subscribe to Google Calendar and browse through Outlook (read-only and cannot be modified). The Internet Calendar for Outlook 2007 supports the ical feature, and the calendar public URLs provided by Google Calendar happen to be in ical format, so it should be easy to integrate.
My working calendar in Outlook:
add my "family Calendar" to Google Calendar (side-by-side):
It's better to put two calendars together:
OK, that's what I did:
Go to the Details page through the Calendar Settings feature of the Google Calendar calendar
Click the ical button in the "Private URL" to copy the URL
In Outlook 2007, open account settings, and in the Internet Calendar option, create a new calendar that fills in the Google calendar address you just copied.
OK, OK, in the Outlook 2007 calendar, select the newly added Google Calendar calendar to browse (only browse, not publish or update)
Note If you then link your Hotmail Live Mail via Outlook Connector in Outlook 2007, the calendar on Hotmail will also be added to Outlook, and you can only browse for updates.
