After jailbreak, your iOS device has full permissions. you can install any software at will, but there are also some risks, because the Default Root Password is the same after the same jailbreak tool is used, this weak password is insecure today when Internet viruses are raging. Next, we will introduce how to change the default root password of the iPhone.

I. Why do I need to change the root password?

Many management software will be installed in the future, but the root password is well known. If you do not modify the password, others will also have the permission to manage your system, in this way, when your device is in the network, your device may be vulnerable to intrusion, or it may be infected with worms (such as 3G environments) in an unfamiliar environment, for future security, we recommend that you modify the settings.

Ii. Modification Process

1. Install mobileterminal package, which must be installed using cydia. You only need to open cydia and search for and install it.

2. After installation, an icon is displayed on the home page. (We recommend that you install the mobileterminal terminal on the 1178 source, which works on ios4.32)

This is the command control line software of iOS, which is the port version of the Mac BSD terminal. You can understand it as a command input software. 3. After opening it, you will see the black-and-white-text input command interface. Don't be afraid. It is very simple and there is no difficulty. (make sure to switch the English input method before entering the command. Otherwise, you won't be able to enter the command.

Enter the following command as prompted

First, enter su root to escalate to administrator permissions, prompt to enter "Alpine" when entering the password, and touch the "line feed" key. Note: No prompt will be prompted when entering the password. After everything is done, you will find that the $ after the original device name is changed to #, which means that the current maximum permission is applied.

IPhone :~ Mobile $ su Root
Password:
IPhone:/var/mobile root # cd
IPhone :~ Root #

3. Change the root password

Enter the passwd command and follow the prompts to enter the new password twice in a row. The root password is changed. (It is best to modify the complex information in English and numbers. Otherwise, it is also a false one ).

The prompt is as follows:

IPhone :~ Root # passwd
Changing password for root.
New password:
Retype new password:
IPhone :~ Root #

4. Modify the Mobile User Password

Mobile users are also built-in accounts. Although their permissions are relatively low, they also have the permission to read your photos, text messages, and music file directories. They have changed their passwords for security purposes.

Same as above, continue to enter the command "passwd mobile" (without quotation marks), enter the old password Alpine, and then enter the new password two times in a row.

IPhone :~ Root # passwd mobile
Changing password for mobile.
New password:
Retype new password:
IPhone :~ Root #

The password is changed, so you can use it with confidence when you close terminalmobile.
