Groupmod-modify a group definition on the system
Synopsis
groupmod [Options] GROUP
Options:
-G,--gid GID change the group ID to GID
-H,--help display this help message and exit
-N,--new-name new_group change the name to New_group
-O,--non-unique allow to use a duplicate (Non-unique) GID
-p,--password password change the password to this (encrypted)
PASSWORD
The Groupmod command is used to change the definition of a group on the system
Syntax: groupmod [options] Group name
Options
-G,--GID GID modification Group GID number
-H,--help get information about using the Groupmod command
-N,--new-name new_group group name
-O with-g configuration, you can set a non-unique group ID value
-P Modify the password for the group
Example:
Assuming that the group Testbed,gid is already there 4000
#groupmod-N testbed-new testbed to change testbed group name to Testnbed-new
#groupmod-G testbed-new change the group ID of the Testbed-new group to 5000
