Use Photoshop to create cool character effects

The goal of this tutorial is not to let you enjoy the exotic beauties of the wild fish, but to teach you how to make a scene in a bio-chemical blockbuster with a seemingly bad brush, a series of pictures and layers.

This tutorial is difficult three stars, intermediate, but some of these tips are very useful, come and try it ~

　　Note: This tutorial is based on PS CS6, so some screenshots are slightly different from previous versions, and individual brushes are only available for CS6 versions.

　　Step 1

Creates a new file with a size of 1290*700 pixels and a black background. Create a new layer and use the grunge brush (the fourth in the material) to draw a few strokes in the background at random.

Open the picture of the beautiful woman in PS (the first one in the material), choose the beauty with the Quick selection tool, as follows:

Copy and paste it into our file, and resize it with the free transform tool.

We want this model to be a bit sharper, turn on the filter > Sharpen >USM and set the data as follows:

Add a clipping mask to the beauty layer, and then set the following:

Black & White

The mask effect for this adjustment layer is as follows:

Color bands

Curve

The final effect is as follows, a series of adjustments in this step play a decisive role in this dirty effect.

　　Step 2

In order to illustrate the identity of this exotic beauty, we purposely found the flag of the Britannia Empire (the second of the material).

Copy and paste the flag into our file, put it under the beauty layer, and rub it with a grunge brush.

Add a clipping mask to the flag this layer, set as follows:

Black & White

Color bands

Curve

Effect:

A flag feels too little and too monotonous, we decided to get a few more. Copy the flag paste two times, place the position below, so that the national flag will look like the hurrying feet flying in the wind.

　　Step 3

How can the lack of skyscrapers in a biochemical crisis, open the building (the third in the material), pull out the main body of the building, as follows:

Copy and paste it into our file, place it in the middle of the model and flag, and adjust its size.

To make the whole look more magical and brow, you can also paste the building again and reverse it, placing it in the following position:

Use the grunge brush to blacked some of the building.

Add a clipping mask to the building layer, adjusted as follows:

Black & White

Color bands

Curve

Effect:

　　Step 4

Now we want to create a surreal light effect, click on the rectangular Marquee tool, feather value of 20 pixels.

Choose a piece randomly, the color is as follows:

Place the Cloud brush (the last one in the material) into PS and choose one that you like.

Use the cloud brush to erase the edges of the marquee.

Once this layer is copied, hue/saturation is adjusted for the copied layer.

Compress the duplicate layer with the free transform tool.

Merge the two layers and set the following:

Make a few more copies of the layers above, resize them, and scatter them, making them fly like bullets.

　　Step 5

The clang! To make the beauty look even more pathetic, we decided to paint some black gas on her face with a cloud brush.

For black gas this layer to do color adjustment, turn on color balance, set the data as follows:
