Use sshfs to mount a remote drive on a local mount point

SSH is the most common file transfer protocol in the network. sshfs allows you to mount a remote file system to a local mount point.

GNU/Linux does not include sshfs by default. Use the Package Manager to install the tool. Sshfs is an extension of the fuse file system. Fuse allows the supported operating systems to mount various types of data like local file systems.

Mount the file system on the remote host to a local machine. You can use:

[[Email protected] ~] # Sshfs [email protected]:/home/path/mnt/mountpointpassword:

Enter the User Password Upon receiving the prompt. Now the data in the remote host/home/path can be accessed through the local mount point/mnt/mountpoint.

After the task is completed, you can uninstall it using the following methods:

[[Email protected] ~] # Umount/mnt/mountpoint
