In Word2003, saving the formatting of text or paragraphs is a style. For example, the user to the contract title format "Song Body second bold words, paragraph center, 1.5 times times leading" and so save as style "contract title." Then apply this style to text and paragraphs to speed up typesetting. Styles can be stored in a template that you can use when you edit additional files later. The steps to use the word style are described below:
Step 1th, open the Word2003 window, click the format → style and Format menu command in the menu bar, or click the left-most formatting pane button on the Formatting toolbar to open the Styles and Formatting task pane, as shown in Figure 1.

Step 2nd, to create a style with the name "contract title", first set the paragraph and text formatting for the title, and click the New Style button in the Styles and Formatting task pane, as shown in Figure 2.

Step 3rd, open the New Style dialog box, in the Name box, enter the name of the style (such as contract title), and then in the Style type Drop-down list, select the scope of the style (such as paragraph), and the style is based on the style on which you want to set the new style, and you can leave the default setting In the format bar, you can modify the font and paragraph formatting, the preview area will display the effect, the preview area below is the current style formatting details, click the lower right corner of the format button for more detailed settings. Select the Add to template check box and click OK, as shown in Figure 3.

Step 4th, the new style appears in the list in the Styles and Formatting task pane, and when you create a style, you can apply the new style by first selecting the text you want to use, and then clicking the style name in the list of styles, as shown in Figure 4.
