User name password and root password are not the same password reset (modify) root password
Ubuntu Root initial password is random, each boot has a new root password modification method as follows:
1.sudo passwd
2. Enter your username and password here
3. two times enter the root new password set.
4. Enter su root to switch to the root administrator
5. Enter the toot new password set in step three .
PS: Modify the root password method as

Ubuntu Change Password Step:
1. Open a terminal and enter sudo su to the root user. Note that you must first become the root user!!!
2.sudo passwduse R (user is the corresponding username)
3. Enter the new password and confirm the password.
4. Change password successfully, reboot, enter new password to enter Ubuntu.
