Third, the environment construction1. Network setup

The PC , set-top box connected to the router, the establishment of a local area network, the LAN should be able to connect the external network, to ensure that the normal set-top box can obtain information and play video.

2. Software Installation

Click on the p2pover ( Terminator ). exe installation to install the program, there is no difference between the installation process and other Windows software, not described here.

3. System Settings

When the installation is complete, the System Settings screen appears the first time you start the program:

The software will read all the network card information on the PC, including the virtual network card, select the network card to use ( general PC only one physical network card select it ), the program automatically fills in the rest of the information such as IP address, MAC address, etc. after selecting the NIC.

When the network card settings is complete, click the Control Settings tab.

On the Control Settings page, tick "discover new hosts by detecting ARP requests" so that when new devices are added to the monitored network, they can be discovered by the software and controlled by us.

Other settings by default, confirm the information is correct, click the "OK" button to end the system settings.

4. Scan the network

When the system settings is configured, when you enter the Software home page, the software automatically refreshes the IP,MAC address, and other information on all devices in the network , and displays it on the home page. If you find that the network information displayed in the home page is incorrect or missing, you can manually click the Scan Network button in the toolbar to get it back.

5. Control rule Settings

There are 4 default rules in the interface, we can create a new rule by ourselves, or we can edit and delete the existing rules. Here we select "Global speed Limit Template" and click "Edit" to modify.

Click "Edit" to enter the "rule editing" screen, select the "Broadband Restrictions" tab in the interface:

6. Specify rules

In the main interface, tick the device you want to control, and click the "Specify Rule to Host" button to bring up the "Control Rule Assignment" dialog box:

In the Control Rule Assignment dialog box, select the global speed limit template that you just edited, and then confirm.

7. start control, stop control

Through the above, we have edited the rules and bound to the target device, just click the "Launch Control" button, you can limit the speed of the target device. After starting the control, using the target set-top box to play the video, you can see the set-top box cache speed is limited to the specified range.

When we want to restore the restricted network to normal, just click the "Stop Control" button.
