In the General Configuration tab, here are the main two directories, the directory where the project documents are stored, and the directory where the iOS image files reside.
Note: iOS image files are automatically copied to the directory when you create a new analog device and select an iOS file, if the iOS image file is not in this directory.

As I am personally inclined to use SECURECRT, here is the case of SECURECRT, for example, in the Default connection software list check securecrt and then select the following "set", this time will be in the "Console application Command (console application commands) "automatically generates corresponding parameters, which you can change if you are familiar with the parameters."

The default TCP port number starts from 2001 to 5000, and you can change the port number of the dynamic range (1025-65535) without conflicting ports.
Configure GNS3 Server

Because the local server is a local resource running dynamips, disabling the local server is equivalent to disabling the dynamips iOS simulated runtime environment. So normally this feature is enabled.

As shown, I specify the IP address of 192.168.61.128 as the remote server IP address of GNS3, perhaps everyone is more curious about the configuration of the address there is no need to pay attention to the place, the answer is there, as long as the IP address to the IOU virtual machine IP address.
In fact, this place is currently reserved for IOU settings. You can simply think that GNS3 can not only use the local dynamips as iOS running server, it can also designate a remote UNIX virtual machine as a GNS3 server, let the server run the Cisco analog iOS is IOU (IOS Running In Unix). The purpose of the IOU is to enable the use of UNIX systems that occupy a smaller amount of physical computing and storage resources to run Cisco's iOS (including switch iOS) for large and complex network interconnect configuration experiments.

The two configurations, IOU devices and iOS routes, are not very different, and are the core steps of GNS3 building analog devices. Only the former iOS routes is the iOS simulated runtime environment for the local server, the latter IOU devices is for the remote server IOU simulating the operating environment.
