It takes a lot of skill and hard work to make complex synthetic pictures, but everyone can do it.
This tutorial will show you how to use layers and layer masks to add a fantasy moon or planet to a landscape picture.
1th Step
You need a landscape and a picture of (anything you want to embed in the sky) in my tutorial, a planet (Na-mi?)
Open your hungry picture and drag the planet into the current file. (When you drag the planet into the file, if it is not automatically converted to a smart object, please add it manually)
Resize it and place it in the right place.
2nd Step
Hide the planetary layer. Select the Quick Select tool.
Select the objects in the foreground, such as this part of the mountain, and the area you choose will cover the location of the planet.
3rd Step
Right-click your selection and select Adjust Edge command.
Sets the smoothing option to 5, and the contrast is set to 50%.
4th step
Restore the display of the planet layer and select the layer to add a layer mask. Select the layer mask and press CTRL + I to place the selection.
Change the blending mode of the layer to "color filter".
5th step
Hide the planetary layer again and select the background layer.
Using the Quick Selection tool, select the cloud, do not have to choose the perfect one at a time, use the different choice mode to perfect your constituency.
Turn on the Adjust Edge command again, set the smoothing to 15, and adjust the feather to 2 pixels.
6th step
Restore the display of the planetary layer and select its layer mask.
Select the Brush tool and select the foreground color to be black and smear in the selection to hide your planet behind the clouds. Cancels the selection (Ctrl + D). Use the Brush tool to resize the layer mask again to hide or show parts of the planet.
7th step
To better present a new moon effect, we need to do some processing on the layer mask.
With a large soft angle brush, point at the center of the planet.
8th Step
Open the Blending Options dialog box for the planetary layer.
Use the settings shown in the following illustration. (The color used in the color substitution is #ff3e0a and the color used for the inner Glow option is #fff1be)
9th step
Copy the planetary layer and remove all effects, add the color substitution effect again, and set the opacity to 35%.
Use the Brush tool to modify the layer mask on the backup layer to make it more crescent-shaped than the original planet.
